NAA joins ADLAF’s 8th Early Career Researchers Congress (online, 7–8 May 2026). Why, how, and for whom do we publish? A dialogue on scientific publishing between Latin America and Germany

Publishing is a core academic practice—but never neutral. This dialogue will open a shared space to reflect on the geopolitical, economic, and ethical conditions that shape what we publish and how our work circulates between Latin America and Germany.

Topics include: Why publish? Career requirements, knowledge dissemination, and metric-driven pressures. Where publish? Open access vs. indexed journals; Latin America vs. Germany; funding and collaboration networks. How publish? Co-authorship (teams and/or communities) and formats—from articles to edited volumes and collective compilations.
