“Entgrenzte Museen,” the title of this dossier in German, which may be translated or interpreted in Spanish as “Museos más allá de sus fronteras,” refers to processes and dynamics in which boundaries blur, fracture, and shift until they ultimately dissolve. The photograph selected for the cover of the first issue of Notas de Antropología de las Américas can be understood as a visualization of the new territories that emerge beyond the limits of museums.
